With opposing views on the risk-reward this next generation technology could bring, how can this dichotomy be reconciled or middle ground achieved. It seems unconscionable that there is any singular correct answer to the question of how AI should be developed, and yet the potential for its capacity to learn frightens us to the point where we speak openly on forums, debate its future, and establish groups in the hope we can provide a semblance of control and operational parameters within which it will exist.
